Recent advances in translation technology, especially in statistical machine translation, have greatly influenced the situation of translators, as it has led to the emergence of various professions and new job opportunities. Two decades ago, customers had a relatively limited choice of translation services, but today, cloud computing makes machine translation accessible.
The development of cloud computing occurred in the late 1980s with the concept of network computing, which was a different type of computing compared to cloud computing, because it provides a virtual collection of computing resources.
Network computing means controlling multiple computers. However, cloud computing refers to controlling multiple sources to distribute an integrated service to customers.
The cloud can be considered a group of computers that provide various services to customers remotely via the Internet. The idea of cloud computing is basically based on “reusing technology capabilities”.
In practice, instead of constantly storing information on your hard drive or constantly updating the applications you need, you use an Internet service to meet similar needs.
The idea of cloud computing was taken from the idea of networking. In cloud computing, the word “cloud” is a metaphor for “Internet”, so cloud computing is a type of Internet-based computing in which certain services are provided to an organization through a network.
For example, what a cloud computing software service provider offers are commercial online applications that are delivered to users through a web browser or other software. Application software and information are stored on servers and provided to users upon request.
